Java is one of the oldest coffee producing regions outside of Africa. Dutch colonies set up plantations (exploiting indigenous people) to export coffees to Europe in the 1600's. The first seedings came from Yemeni coffees and the two origins still share many varietals. Today, Javanese coffees, like their Indonesian neighbors are improving in quality every year. This coffee has a great earthy body with a surprisingly crisp and clean acidity.
