Idido is the village, or kebele, where this coffee is grown by many small landholders and then processed. The altitude is between 1850 and 1880 masl.

Aricha is the washing station where the coffee is processed and is about 8 kilometers from the center of Yirgacheffe Town. The coffee is picked ripe from Typica and various Ethiopian heirloom varieties between November and January, depulped within 12 hours, and washed clean with spring water.

Conscious Cup Coffee Roasters' production of this fine coffee earned a 90-point review from Coffee Review. This is continues a string of outstanding ratings at 90 points and higher for Conscious Cup.

The Ethiopian Commodities Exchange manages the great majority of coffees produced in Ethiopia today. The ECX came to be in 2008 to address the plight of Ethiopian farmers access to markets and reliable payments and investments. It treats coffees and other big agriculture through its system as a commodity, traceable to region but not farm. The lack of traceability is an ongoing concern for the Specialty Coffee Industry, as we are all eager for completely traceable coffees.

Though farm level traceability is not possible, high quality coffees from the ECX can be truly great. The ECX sorts and sells coffee based on physical and cup quality. Ethiopian coffees are regarded around the world for their naturally fruity heirloom varietals. Growers are incentivized to take care in their crop to receive the best prices.
